Getting ready for your next Smart Move! Doors open 1 October.
I'm really looking forward to welcoming you into Smart Move!
With just a few days to go, I've put this page together for those on the waiting list, so you have everything you need to get organised before we start.
One important thing to note: this will be the final Smart Move intake for the next six months. There will be no January intake.
This is so I can continue providing personal support to everyone inside. You'll have direct access to me, weekly opportunities for exercise feedback, regular check-ins and ongoing support throughout your membership.
I won't bombard you with emails between now and 4 October. You'll hear from me on 1 October when the doors open, and just once more on 4 October with a final reminder before they close.
Come and have a look inside!
I've recorded a video, taking you through Smart Move, the monthly programming, exercise and restorative libraries, our private community and how you'll receive support from me.
Have a watch so you know exactly where everything is when you join.

A few things to organise before doors open.
Equipment
You'll find the full equipment list in the FAQs on my website, divided into essentials and recommended extras.
These are the essentials:
Cork Squat Wedges (lighter weight, easier to store, less expensive option - usually about £25) or these 20 degree metal squat wedges, which are the ones I have in my videos (heavier duty, usually about £45).
Dumbbells - starting with what feels, lighter, manageable and then heavier for you - increasing the weight as your strength grows. I recommend Hex Dumbbells with metal grip, rather than neoprene weights.
Yoga Mat - 5mm.This is the one I use in the studio and for filming. I'm recommending this one because I know it lies flat and sticks to the floor well. It doesn't move when doing more dynamic movements and it has work brilliantly. There are other mats similar to this available, but I feel comfortable recommending this given it's durability and high use over the last 5 years in the studio. It's still as good as new.
If you're buying dumbbells, I recommend hex dumbbells rather than neoprene ones - find out why here. I also have a discount code, EMMAJ20, for 20% off at Northern Gym Equipment or use this specific link to get 30% off site wide until 7 October.
Please message me if you'd like some guidance on which weights to buy. If you're local, you're very welcome to arrange a visit to my studio to try some out before purchasing.
Assessments
You don't need an assessment before joining, but I recommend considering one if you have recurrent injuries, aches and pains, pelvic health symptoms or would like to understand more about how your body moves.
An assessment allows me to tailor your training more specifically to you.
Read more about my assessments and book.
What happens next?
Everyone currently on the waiting list is guaranteed a place when Smart Move opens on 1 October.
On that day, you'll receive an email from me with your invitation and a link to sign up. You'll have until 4 October to complete your registration before the doors close for the next six months.
Your membership will be £40 per month, with no minimum commitment. You can cancel whenever you wish - easy to do - go to the ‘Managing your membership’ section of the programme and follow the instructions.
Once you've joined, you'll have access to the membership and everything you need to get started.
If your plans have changed and you no longer wish to join, that's absolutely fine. I'd just be really grateful if you could let me know, so I can offer your place to someone else who would like a spot.
In the meantime, have a watch of the video, have a look at the equipment list and please get in touch if you have any questions.
I'm really looking forward to getting started with you!
Love,
Emma x
